It is after the widely popular ERC20 version and the SLP version the third blockchain which is supported by BitcoinVN to deposit and withdraw USDT on the exchange.
BitcoinVN CEO Bao Phuong Nguyen:
“As we have stated previously, this move should not be seen as an endorsement of the TRON token itself – but we have to recognize that the TRON team managed to capture a wide market-opening by quickly integrating with most Asian exchanges – and established itself as quasi-standard transfer protocol for USDT due to the ongoing high fees on the Ethereum (ERC20) protocol.”
In the past the TRON protocol has been widely criticized for being a blatant copycat of Ethereum plagiarizing most of its initial Whitepaper, while its founder Justin Sun has come under scrutiny as playing it fast and loose with various (ballooning announcements) which was maybe most detailed depicted in a damning deep-dive article published by Verge (“Hype man of the century) in the fall of 2020.
These controversies notwithstanding it has to be recognized that the strategy to deliver a more centralized Ethereum copy paid off so far:
Allowing exchanges and wallet providers to integrate with software they are already broadly familiar with due to the similarities with Ethereum, all the while keeping transaction fees low and throughput high.
