Saigon’s Bitcoin Community has teamed up with local restaurateur Robin Babu of Baba’s Kitchen in order to provide relief to the large numbers of workers and families who have lost their jobs, income and sometimes their homes during the past five months of lockdowns in Vietnam’s Southern metropolis Saigon.

The current lockdown in Saigon destroyed livelihoods and income opportunities for many families and workers
The current lockdown in Saigon destroyed livelihoods and income opportunities for many families and workers.

So far the community with support from Bitcoiners near and far was able to raise more than 22 million Sats which covers the cost of more than 5,500 meals to destitute families or otherwise hard-pressed victims of the current destitute conditions due to the harsh lockdown regulations in Saigon, which saw end of last month the deployment of military forces.

The team of Baba’s Kitchen has been preparing and delivering meals in a charity arrangement for several weeks and is currently producing and providing more than 1,000 meals a day.

Baba’s Kitchen has been a regular host of the meetups of the local Bitcoin community in Saigon in the past couple of years.

If you want to participate in the community fundraiser, you can do so here:
